Am I the only one who thinks there's something wrong with punk today?
Like, why the HELL is Blink-182 considered punk? They're emo. Emo is what you get when you take a sound somewhat like punk rock and sing about your emotions, boyfriends, girlfriends, etc. SINCE WHEN HAS THIS BECOME PUNK ROCK??? Was I left out on this one? No one really tells me much of anything, but I can figure this out by myself...emo blows! And why is Lit supposedly punk? Ridiculous!!!
It may just be me, but I think that Punk Rock is diseased. And, to quote popular Christian Emo band MxPx, "the sickness has increased". (Note to Mike Herra- if you're really a Christian band, then how come you never talk about God anymore? Sellout ASSHOLE!)
It's just odd that these people came in, said, "We're punk," and were just accepted. When the Sex Pistols came out, they had to fight tooth and nail (a good label) for their place as a great band, despite the fact that practically the whole music industry was either against or afraid of them. And now, Never Mind the Bollocks is considered the most important Rock album of the 1970's! These Johnny-come-latelies need to understand that when it's all said and done, you're not really punk unless you are a punk, and if you're in a band, if it's punk. Punk is Politics, personal and governmental, Punk is ideas, both pleasant and unpleasent, Punk is beautiful, but it's not this hippie bullshit passing off as punk.
Which reminds me--I saw a Rancid T-Shirt in a catalog on the same page as several Grateful Dead T-Shirts. Is it just me, or is someone not getting the point?
Well, I've bitched enough. I just needed to say this somewhere. If you agree with me, that's great. If not, then fuck off or at least don't bitch at me for it. In the words of Johnny Rotten, "Enjoy or Die..."

P.S. to all you wannabe's- Just because you can't spell doesn't make you punk, dumbshit!
